We are pleased to have worked with Scottish actor and comedian Billy Connolly this past week in Chicago.  Billy is working on a new program “Billy Connolly’s Route 66″ for the British ITV Network.

 Historic Route 66 begins in Chicago, and, I did not know this, there is actually a sign on Adams Street just West of Michigan Avenue announcing the Route’s starting point.  In between the rain, snow and wind we were able to get Billy out by the sign with his Boom Trike.  The Trike is a supercharged three wheeled bike, more like a rocket actually, with a Ford 350 cu. in. engine. Billy will be riding the trike as he sojourns across the famed Route, visiting points of interest along the way.

With the start of the baseball season upon us and the recent passing of Chicago Cubs’ baseball legend Ron Santo, I dug into our archive to share photos we did of Ron a few years back.

We were shooting Santo for Chevrolet print ads with GM’s then longstanding agency Campbell-Ewald.  Our temporary studio was set up in one of the slick buildings housing rooftop seating for Wrigley Field just across the ballpark on Waveland Avenue.  Ron ambled in with the help of some walking devices, he had lost the lower parts of both legs a few years back to daibetes.  Ron was affable, very present, and didn’t once complain.
